220 - Brrr

Not much to say today... cold... rainy... Mike installed the cat door leading to the basement so we can move the litterbox out of the living area. I made beans and rice and cornbread for dinner. We walked down to our small rivulet and it was flowing nicely. I love our property even more.

Pictures of the grandchild.

Stupid raindrop on the lens... but you can see the water and that's what I was going for.

219 - Three Hour Tour

Today was a get-er-done kinda day. Vacuuming... steam mopping... laundry... dishes... bank... Then we took a walk to the back of the property to see what's there. With winter, the weeds have died down a lot and it's a much easier walk. To our (pleasant) surprise, we have a small creek! It's not large, but it had a good flow to it and it's not a wet weather creek, which opens up possibilities for us.

My man, swangin' that scythe

Cool mushroom. A real fungi.

Birch?

Water!

Water!

Water!

Not water. But our house looks like one of those cool houses on a ridge from down there.

Homemade pizza.

Ricotta ruins everything... might make that the name of a cooking blog someday. I wanted to use the last of the ricotta, but it really sucked the flavor out of the pizza sauce. Shame too, because the sauce is my own creation and it is tasty if I do say so myself... tangy, herby, flavorful. Oh well. The dough makes two more pizzas so I know what not to do next time.

218 - Chirrens

We'll start with the good news. Gracie ate some wet food this morning and a little later she came back and nibbled some more. She also produced a poopie. And she's been cleaning herself pretty regularly.

On the other hand... Bo does not react well to turkey. Mike was in the bathroom and I was in the kitchen, and Bo must have looked everywhere in between for us because there was another trail of poo all over the living room. It was disgusting. He did okay for most of the rest of the day until later in the night when his head sprang up, he looked rather concerned and then his stomach began to contract. I managed to get him pointed toward the floor instead of Mike's lap... and what came out of his mouth was pretty much the same smell and consistency as what came out the other end... so we all spent most of the night in the living room. Long night.

This morning I checked Walter's teefies... He had a double canine on the left side, a small one and a large one so I figured he was teething. Other side was normal at the time. It's been about a week or so and I wanted to see if anything had changed... the double canine is gone, but the canine on the right side is sideways and it's either broken and wedged in or growing that way. He has a small hole in his lip too. So we'll be going to the vet to get that taken care of. He doesn't act like it hurts but he doesn't like us inspecting it either, and I've noticed he doesn't eat much dry food, so that explains why.

In other news, it took a few days, but Bo has finally discombobulated and eaten his big rawhide.

This is before, keeping in mind that the bulbous end has already been eaten:

...and this is after. It is all that remains.

Icy leaf. Was trying to capture how it sparkles in the light but it didn't work. :(
